SuperLite Academy (2 Days)
Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels
(NBFA-listed Course 04-1226)
Designed for technicians and sales personnel, this course covers the features, installation, and programming of FireLite's Intelligent, Addressable Control Panels . This 12-hour course includes a hands-on practical exercise in wiring, programming and troubleshooting an addressable system.
Prerequisites: Individuals should be familiar with basic fire alarm and system terminology or attend the Basic Fire Technology class prior to attending this class.
Products Discussed: MS-9050UD, MS9200UDLS and the MS-9600 Intelligent Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels.
Troubleshooting Fire Alarm Systems
(NBFA-listed Course 07-1816)
This two-hour course is for individuals with up to several years experience in the installation and servicing of fire alarm systems. The course covers the various types of conditions that can cause problems with a fire alarm control panel. Subjects covered include ground faults, electrical noise, improper maintenance and poor design. It also addresses false alarm reduction issues.
IPDACT Internet Communicator
This two-hour course covers the IPDACT - a simple communications device that allows the transmission of alarms generated by a fire alarm control panel through any kind of Internet Protocol (IP) network (ADSL, Cable, ..), while keeping the standard telephone line as a back-up means of transmission. This solution eliminates the need for a second phone and results in faster and more flexible means of supervising a fire alarm system. The course includes a hands-on exercise in the installation and configuration of the IPDACT.
Prerequisites: Individuals should be familiar with basic fire alarm and system terminology prior to attending this class.

This three-day course covers FireLite's entire UL 9th Edition product line from the newest conventional fire alarm panel to the line of addressable, intelligent systems. Topics covered are the features sets, installation methods, programming and troubleshooting of these systems. Included are practical hands-on exercises working with an addressable system, voice evacuation and Central Station reporting.
You MUST attend all three days to be eligible for a certificate of completion.
Prerequisites: Individuals should be familiar with basic fire alarm and system terminology or attend the Basic Fire Alarm Technology class prior to attending this class.
Products Discussed: 2-10 zone conventional fire alarm panels, MRP-2001, MRP-2002 Fire Sup-pression Systems, the MS-9050UD, MS9200UDLS and the MS-9600 Intelligent Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels. This course also covers the IPDACT internet communicator and the ACC-25/50 Audio Command Center.

Basic Fire Alarm Technology (Day 1)
This is a one-day introductory course for individuals with little or no background in the fire alarm industry. Included are definitions, terminology, detectors, annunciators, digital communicators, releasing service, waterflow devices and the basics of voice evacuation.
This course also covers basic codes such as NFPA 72 and the American Disabilities Act (ADA).
You MUST attend the Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels course on Days 2 & 3 to be eligible for a BASIC certificate.
Prerequisites: None.
Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels (Day 2 & 3):
This two-day course module is designed for technicians and sales personnel. It covers panel selection, features, installation methods, programming and troubleshooting of addressable fire alarm control panels with the capability of providing an excess of 600 addressable devices.
Prerequisites: Individuals should be familiar with basic fire alarm and system terminology or attend the Basic Fire Alarm Technology class prior to attending this class.
Products Discussed: MS-9050UD, MS9200UDLS and the MS-9600 Intelligent Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels. This course also covers the IPDACT internet communicator and the ACC-25/50 Audio Command Center. A laptop is recommended for the IPDACT portion of this class. The laptop should not have Windows Vista and needs a serial port or USB to serial port converter.
This is five-day course begins with a one-day optional class on Basic Fire Alarm Technology (see above). You MUST attend the remainder of the five-day course to be eligible for a BASIC certificate.
Days 2-4 are dedicated to covering FireLite's entire UL-9th Edition FireLite product line (see MiniScan Academy above).
Day 5 is a programming exercise using the PK programming software. Note: PK software is not supplied - students who wish to actively participate in the lab exercise included with this module of instruction must supply their own laptop with the most recent version of the PK Plus software installed and functioning.
Prerequisite: Individuals should be familiar with basic fire alarm and system terminology or attend the Basic Fire Alarm Technology class prior to attending this class.
